The Horse
Is it possible to find an animal that better embodies the majesty of nature than the horse? We admire horses for their beauty and spirit but by domesticating them, we have altered their relationship with the natural environment. Diet, hoof care, stabling and being ridden are just a few examples of ways in which the horses life has been changed by his interaction with humans.
As many of us seek more natural ways of living, so, also do we seek more natural methods to handle and care for the animals we have domesticated. Holistic veterinary care is part of that trend. We must view the horse as a whole being - body, mind, and spirit. A holistic approach tends to be more detailed, emphasising study of the horse including his environment, his diet, and even his mental well-being.
The holistic approach greatly increases our ability to treat the horse and allows us to carry out treatment in a manner that is less invasive and more natural Signs of Wellness and Illness

The symptoms of illness listed above are indications that the body is not properly digesting and assimilating nutrients, eliminating toxins and other wastes, or dealing with the stresses imposed on it. A well planned diet and holistic approach to treatment is an excellent way to help maintain health and correct a health problem before it is even detectable - and before irreversible damage is done.
Herbs and Homeopathy - The use of medicinal herb’s declined with the advent of modern medicine, even though the pharmaceutical industry began using herb’s, many of their drugs are synthetic versions of these compounds. The active ingredients are extracted out of the herb and it is no longer in the state nature provided. Herb’s can be used to treat many health problems faced by horses, and they can also a wonderful support for the immune system and a boost to vitality. Homeopathy can be used to treat many health problems in horses i.e. inflammation, hooves, skin, internal organ problems, musculoskeletal problems, emotional etc. etc. Products Homeopathic Remedies are made to order in the following forms: |
