HOLISTIC TREATMENT OF ANIMALS

For most of us who share our lives with animal companions, their traumas, accidents and illness are no less upsetting and dramatic than our own. The signs and symptoms of an animal in distress are very much the same as those for humans in distress: Vomiting, diarrhoea, fever, difficulty breathing, anxiety, and usual symptoms both mental and physical.

You can make a big difference in the well-being of your animal companion with the proper information and tools at your disposal. You can handle almost any emergency situation involving your animal that may well save their life. Critical situations are always life-threatening and any first-aid or homeopathic remedy should be given on the way to the vets. Acute situations may or may not be life threatening but they develop with sudden and dramatic symptoms; follow up veterinary care is strongly encouraged for all acute situations involving an animals health. Chronic conditions show symptoms that have been around for a while; rarely are they life threatening, and they are usually responsive to homeopathic remedies coupled with good nursing care.

It is a good idea to purchase a good book on the homeopathic treatment of animals. Learn about the principles of homeopathy as it is very different to conventional medicine, Look at the other holistic treatments available and avoid yearly boosters that are unnecessary. Speak to your Vet regarding less invasive and suppressive treatment for your pet unless absolutely necessary, avoid the toxic chemicals and drugs that are regularly given out today. All these things will not guarantee that your pets will live a disease free life but an animal treated holistically, taking into account the immune system and the bodies own means of fighting disease, will be more able to overcome a serious illness than those that have been over-vaccinated and given immune suppressing drugs like steroids etc.

Good living conditions, less stress, good home cooked diet and plenty of Tender Loving Care are just as important and necessary in the treatment of our animals as medicines.

You can contact me for a leaflet that explains what to look for when choosing a remedy for your pet (or yourself), how to administer the remedies, and what to look for after they have been given.
